V3 Consulting Engineers is seeking to appoint a dynamic, results-driven, and professionally registered Business Unit Manager to lead and manage its Gauteng Business Unit based in Pretoria.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced professional with strong leadership, technical, financial, and business development capabilities within the engineering and built environment sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Managing the overall operations and profitability of the Gauteng Business Unit
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project delivery
• Driving business development and client relationship management
• Ensuring financial sustainability and budget management
• Managing contracts, risk, compliance, and quality systems
• Overseeing project implementation and technical delivery
• Mentoring staff and promoting skills development
• Supporting strategic growth initiatives within the business unit
Reporting Line:
Chief Operating Officer
Candidates must hold one of the following:
• BSc Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering (BEng / BTech Engineering)
• Degree in the Built Environment field
• Qualification in Project Management
The following qualifications would be advantageous:
• Postgraduate qualification in the Built Environment
• Honours Degree in Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification in Project / Programme Management
• Master’s Degree in Engineering
• Master’s Degree in Business Leadership (MBL)
Candidates must hold one of the following professional registrations:
• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist
• SACPCMP registration as a Professional Project Manager
• Relevant professional registration within the Built Environment sector
• 8–10 years’ experience as a Senior Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Technologist, or within a Built Environment field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a middle management role
• 3–5 years’ senior management and people management experience
• Excellent interpersonal and people management skills
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
• Enthusiasm for improving the safety performance of site operations
• Financial management and business sustainability experience
• Business development and stakeholder engagement capability
• Sound knowledge of construction industry regulations and contracts
• Project and programme management expertise
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Strategic planning and operational management capability
• Strong technical and commercial acumen
