As part of the Perth City Deal project, the Department of Transport (DoT), together with the City of
Perth (CoP) have committed to improving active and public transport accessibility and safety in
the Perth Central Business District (CBD), through the development and implementation of new
shared path and cycling facilities.
The need to develop a high-quality cycling facility along the Wittenoom Street corridor in East Perth
between the Fremantle Railway Line, Principal Shared Path (PSP) and Matagarup Bridge was
identified.
